Although, nowadays, people don't have to hunt them excessively, they keep on hunting for personal profit.

Supposedly, hunting Harp seals is permitted because they eat too much, so the authorities allowed killing of seals even though it is too cruel. In 1960s, the general populace.

The public kjnew about hunters' merciless methods for killing seals, and they protested about it. Thus, the Newfoundland area regulates the number of seals to be hunted and prohibits cruel methods of killing.

In spite of these efforts criticisms continue about the hunting of baby harp seals.

As a result, Harp seals are in danger.

In many ways, hunting animal is not illegal or a bad thing, but unprovoked killing must be excluded and limited by strict laws.
